1) How data is collected
We collect your email address if you chose to sign up for our quarterly newsletter. The information from the “contact us” form is not collected it will just be replied to and not saved. Information from physicians and health care professionals will only be collected and stored when an account set up form is completed
2) Cookies
Cookies are small files that are downloaded onto your computer (or your mobile phone) from websites that you visit. Cookies contain information that allows websites to recognise that you have used the site before. Some cookies let us improve your browsing experience by using tools like Google analytics.
3) How your data is kept secure
Your financial data is completely secure and encrypted through PayPal, which uses SSl, secure socket layers for encrypting the information; it is not stored or seen by any staff within MELISA.
Completed questionnaires and e-diagnosis are kept securely in cloud based software and will be deleted 3 months after completion and sending unless part of ongoing research.
Your test results are stored securely and kept anonymously with only test reference number and no other identifying information.
4) Who has access to your data
Your personal data will only be shared with third parties in the following circumstances:
a) With registered MELISA laboratories for helping to improve diagnosis of metal allergy and related diseases.
b) With medical researchers: MELISA Diagnostics are committed to expanding the knowledge of metal allergies, we may use anonymous test result data and questionnaire data for scientific research purposes only.
5) How we use your data
The data provided in test results may be used anonymously to provide information for researchers working with both Lyme disease and with metal allergy.
• To raise awareness of health problems associated with metal allergy
• To isolate which symptoms and diseases are more common in people with metal allergy
• To establish if certain types of metal implants are more frequently associated with ill health
• To help establish the prevalence and frequency of Lyme disease
6) Deletion of data
You may request at any time to have all data we hold for you deleted. Please email [email protected]
